FREDERIKSTED — One of four men arrested in 2017 for his involvement in an East End carjacking-rape incident that shocked St. Croix was found shot to death inside a house in Concordia Bay about 10:38 a.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
Link Baltimore, Jr., 20, was arrested in May 2017 along with three other men and charged with first-degree rape, kidnap for rape, third-degree burglary, unauthorized possession of a stolen vehicle, and first-degree robbery. He was about to enter a plea deal on June 21, court records indicate.
Baltimore was shot multiple times about the body at a home in Concordia. Police say he was found inside his house, shot execution-style.
“Upon police arrival at the scene an unresponsive black male was discovered on the floor in the interior of the dwelling,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.
Baltimore Jr age 20, by his next of kin was shot multiple times and succumbed from his injuries.
The matter is under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) and the Major Crimes Unit.
