CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police were called to an area near the Chicken Fry Restaurant on Kronprindsens Gade to investigate a shooting victim Thursday night.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau also traveled to the area of the Chicken Fry about 10:22 p.m. Thursday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The victim was transported by ambulance from Kronprindsens Gade to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, according to the VIPD.
Detectives, Crime scene technicians and patrol officers also traveled to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.
“The victim stated that he was walking eastward on the sidewalk, area of the Jewish Cemetery, which is also adjacent to the Western Cemetery when observed he a vehicle drove by heading east and multiple shots were discharged from the vehicle as it drove passed him and consequently, he sustained a gunshot wound to his back,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said.
