VIWMA Notifies Public of Bin Site Relocation in St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) said today that the bins near the old Tropical Motors site will be relocated north of their current location.

“The bins will be reduced to one six-yard bin instead of the customary two six-yard bins,” according to VIWMA.

The Authority people with apartment buildings of four or more units and businesses should acquire a permitted waste hauler and not use the bins.

“Bin Sites are designated solely for the disposal of residential solid waste,” VIWMA said. “Relocation of the bins is scheduled for Monday, June 17.”

Residents are encouraged to use the VIWMA 24-Hour Hotline at 844-WMA-USVI (844- 962-8784) to report solid waste and wastewater related emergencies.

Residents are also reminded to “Put Trash in its Place!” the Authority said.

“We’re here to better serve you!,” VIWMA said. “Our team continues to work diligently to provide reliable services and would like to thank the community for their cooperation and support.”
