Peterborg Man Shot In Face After Investigating ‘Banging Sound’ In Upstairs Attic

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man investigating a “banging” noise coming from upstairs at his exclusive northside peninsula house got shot in the face for his trouble today, authorities said.

“During preliminary investigation, victim stated he was inside of his residence and heard a banging sound coming from the upstairs portion of the residence,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “The victim further stated he went upstairs to check on the noise that was coming from the residence and came upon several shots being discharged causing injuries to the left side of the face.”

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched patrol units to a residence located in Estate Peterborg in reference to shots being discharged at the residence about 1:53 a.m. today.

Detectives along with the Crime Scene technicians from the Criminal Investigation Bureau were notified and traveled to the location. 

Estate Peterborg is an exclusive gated community on a north peninsula in St. Thomas.

This case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
