CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Police Department issued a wanted poster today on a St. John man who they want to talk to about a domestic violence incident that allegedly happened on Friday.
Henry “Trouble” Richards, Jr. of Estate Pastory is accused of second-degree burglary—domestic violence in connection with an assault incident that happened in northside St. Thomas about 3 a.m. on Friday, according to the VIPD.
Richards, 38, is described by police as being a 6-foot, 1-inch, African-American man weighing about 200 pounds.
“Mr. Richards is known to be armed and frequents the Hospital Ground area of St. Thomas,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “If you see Mr. Richards, please call 911 or Sgt. Charmayne Todman of the Domestic Violence Unit at (340) 774-2211 ext. 5536 or (340) 714-9800.”
An Estate Dorothea woman contacted the VIPD’s Domestic Violence Unit about 7 p.m. on Friday to say that she was assaulted by Richards at her residence.
“Contact was made with a female individual who stated that on same date at about 3 a.m., her estranged husband came to her residence physically assaulted her, striking her several times to her face and body,” VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. “She stated that her minor son called 911 and Henry Richards, Jr., fled the area taking her house keys and her cellular phone.”
This case is being investigated by the Domestic Violence Unit.
