Thanksgiving Messages From U.S. Virgin Islands Senators
CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Lawmakers from across the territory wished the people of the U.S. Virgin Islands a Happy Thanksgiving today.
“Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all of the blessings we have received throughout the year. Despite our challenges, we all have much to be grateful for,” St. Croix Senator Kenneth Gittens said.
Meanwhile, two-term Senator Janelle K. Sarauw also reflected on the traditional American holiday.
“Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!” Sarauw said. “May your homes be filled with happiness and good times. As we cherish each other and our blessings, I am grateful for each and everyone.”
Gittens, the former Senate President of the 33rd Legislature, continued in that vein.
“It is my hope you will enjoy Thanksgiving surrounded by loved ones.,” he said. “However, in the spirit of authentic Virgin Islands hospitality, let us remember to use this special day as an opportunity to reach out to the less fortunate, as well as to our seniors, and others who may be alone this holiday season.”
“The greatest blessing is the ability to help others, so as we count our own blessings, let us ensure our blessings truly count.Wishing all Virgin Islanders a Happy Thanksgiving 2019!”
