CHARLOTTE AMALIE — An argument between two St. Thomas men in an Estate Dorothea convenience store turned deadly after one man stabbed the other man to death, authorities said.
Police were dispatched to the Nidal Mini Mart & Deli located in Dorothea about 5:11 p.m. on Thursday in reference to a stabbing, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“Investigation revealed that a verbal altercation between two males ensued inside of the grocery store that led into a physical altercation,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim was stabbed several times about the body with a knife leaving him with multiple wounds.”
The suspect then immediately fled the scene of the stabbing in Dorothea, according to the VIPD.
Neither the suspect, nor the victim have been identified by police.
Estate Dorothea is situated at an elevation of about 774 feet above sea level on St. Thomas. It is northwest of Charlotte Amalie.
This case is currently under active investigation.
