Armed Robbers Gun Butt Victim Before Snatching Gold Chains And Cell Phone From Bar Patrons: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two armed, masked robbers gun butted a male victim and took jewelry and a cell phone by force at a downtown St. Thomas bar just after midnight, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center was notified of a robbery that occurred outside the Bliss Bar on Back Street, Charlotte Amalie about 12:18 a.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The female victim reported to police that she and a male friend were standing outside the establishment when a vehicle pulled up to them, according to the VIPD.

“According to the victim, two black males wearing masks and armed with guns exited the vehicle and robbed them of jewelry and a mobile phone,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The male victim suffered a minor injury when one of the suspects pressed his firearm against his head, causing a small contusion.”

This case is currently under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB).
