CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The dead body of a St. Thomas man was found floating in the waters off of Bordeaux Beach this afternoon, authorities said.
Christian Beaupierre, 58, was found dead in the water about 1:18 p.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“Officers arrived at the area and found that an unresponsive black male was removed from the water,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene reported that Beaupierre had “no signs of life,” according to Derima.
The victim was identified by next of kin as Beaupierre.
The body was removed from the scene by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
This case is currently under active investigation.
