CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The U.S. Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) said that there has been a third death from the novel cororavirus in the territory.
A text alert from VITEMA at 9:02 a.m. today said that the death had occurred in the U.S. Virgin Islands but made no mention of the patient or where the fatality occurred.
A 72-year-old woman on St. Thomas with “underlying health issues” became the second person to die of COVID-19 in the territory, Governor Albert Bryan, Jr. said in a press conference at Government House in Christiansted yesterday.
On April 5, an 85-year-old man on St. Thomas with “underlying health problems” became the first person to die of COVID-19 in the territory.
