Rocky Liburd’s Daughter Found Dead In Sugar Estate; VIPD Says ‘No Foul Play’

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The 38-year-old daughter of former Senator-at-Large Almando “Rocky” Liburd was found dead Thursday morning in St. Thomas, authorities said.

Alana Liburd of St. John was found dead in Sugar Estate at 8:27 a.m. on Thursday, VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

“According to detectives, there was no outwardly apparent foul play,” Derima said. “They are waiting for the autopsy that will be performed next week to see if anything hidden becomes apparent.”

St. Thomas police were dispatched to Sugar Estate in reference to a Dead On Arrival (DOA) incident.

Upon their arrival, the officers made contact with “an unresponsive black female,” who was later positively identified by next of kin as Liburd.

In November 2015, Liburd was sentenced to 30 days in prison by a federal judge for impersonating an FBI agent.

Her St. Thomas accomplice was sentenced to one year in prison at that time.
