CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix woman waiting for her take-out food order from a Golden Rock restaurant was robbed at gunpoint of her purse this afternoon, authorities said.
The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to a reported robbery at the Breezez Bar and Restaurant in Estate Golden Rock at 1:56 p.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The female victim reported that while sitting in her vehicle outside of Breezez Bar and Restaurant waiting for her order, a young, slim, dark-skinned male wearing a white shirt and a dark colored do-rag over his face pointed a gun to her head and demanded that she hand over her purse,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The suspect threatened to kill the victim and she complied by giving her handbag which contained cash and documents.”
The suspect then fled the scene in Golden Rock leaving in an unknown direction. Breezez is near Club St. Croix condominiums and within proximity of John F. Kennedy Terrace.
“They’re gonna try and rob the wrong person one day,” Samantha Olivia Nieves said on Facebook today.
This incident is currently under active investigation.
