CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police responded to the scene after a concerned citizen reported that shots were fired in the Tutu area about 1:47 a.m. today.
Shaq’kil Roberts, 26, was found dead after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the body, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“Officers traveled to the area and found an unresponsive black male on the ground,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshots to the body.”
Emergency Medical Technicians on scene concluded that the male did not have any vital signs, according to Derima.
Roberts’ body was identified by next of kin as Roberts, according to the VIPD.
“The VIPD is asking for the community’s assistance in finding those responsible for this incident, the spokesman said.
