CHARGED: Kwanza Pasha George, 31, of Paul M. Pearson Gardens in St. Thomas.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man was arrested by police on Sunday after police said a woman saw him steal her car last month, authorities said.

Kwanza Pasha George, 31, of Paul M. Pearson Gardens was arrested at 7:15 p.m. Sunday and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The victim of this incident reported that on March 19, she was sitting at home and observed an individual drive away with her vehicle without permission, and later noticed that her car keys were missing from inside her residence,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The vehicle was later recovered on Sunday in Estate Canaan and Sherpenjewel. George was positively identified as the person who stole the car, Derima said.
