CHRISTIANSTED — Police responded to a burglary in progress in La Grande Princess on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to a residential burglary in progress in La Grande Princesse at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who said that he was seated outside his home when two masked men approached him, according to the VIPD.
“One suspect pointed a firearm at him and demanded to go into his home,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The armed suspects demanded money and the victim gave the suspects cash. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.”
The suspects are described by the VIPD as being:
Suspect #1 – 6 feet tall, wearing a red long-sleeved hoodie, black pants and shoes.
Suspect #2 – 5 feet 5 inches in height, wearing all black.
This incident was also officially reported by police as a “home invasion” and is currently under active investigation.
