CROOKE ARRESTED! In Connection To Stabbing Death Near Ballfield: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A Frydenhoj man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing death that occurred in St. Thomas near a baseball field on Tuesday, authorities said.

Kyan Crooke, 32, of Estate Frydenhoj, was arrested about 2:00 a.m. today and charged with voluntary manslaughter, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“On May 26 at approximately 8:57 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an unresponsive male in the vicinity of the ballpark in Estate Frydenhoj,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene concluded that the man, who appeared to have sustained a stab wound to his upper body, did not have any vital signs, according to Derima.

The victim has been identified by next of kin as Mendel Felix.

Bail for Crooke was set at $125,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
