St. Croix Man Found Shot To Death In Mon Bijou On Tuesday Night: (UPDATED)

FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man died after being shot multiple times in Mon Bijou on Tuesday night, authorities said.

Jahkerby Charles, 22, of Mon Bijou was identified as the victim of the fatal shooting by the Virgin Islands Police Department on May 14 at 9 a.m.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of shots being fired in the Mon Bijou area about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the VIPD.

“Officers responded to the area and found an unresponsive young black male with multiple gunshot wounds about the body,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said, adding that the unidentified man was found near a Mon Bijou residence.

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene determined that the male victim had no vital signs, according to Derima.

This case is currently under active investigation.
