St. Thomas Man Shot To Death Near Garden Street This Morning: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man was shot to death after being struck multiple times by bullets this morning, authorities said.

The Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired in the Garden Street area about 8:29 a.m. today, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Officers were dispatched, and subsequently located a black male lying face down in the roadway,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds.”

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene said that the male victim did not have any vital signs, according to the VIPD.

The victim has not yet been identified pending notification of his next of kin.

This case is currently under active investigation.
