June Episode of Recovery in Focus Showcased Territorial Housing and Road Projects

CHRISTIANSTED — The Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR) and the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA), in collaboration with WTJX-TV Channel 12 (WTJX) broadcast the June episode of Recovery in Focus last night.

Guests for this month’s episode were Daryl Griffith, VIHFA Executive Director, Nelson Petty Jr., Commissioner of the Department of Public Works, and Jomo McClean, Department of Public Works (DPW) Highway Program Manager. 

This month’s show featured a 60-minute format, to allow for more in-depth discussion, additional project updates, and community involvement. 

ODR Director Adrienne Williams-Octalien hosted Thursday’s episode, which included input from residents on the condition, status, and most pressing issues facing road projects in the territory.

VIHFA Executive Director Daryl Griffith provided the most recent information on the EnVIsion Tomorrow Program and other Community Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program (CDBG-DR) initiatives. 

While DPW Commissioner Nelson Petty Jr. and McClean discussed updates on territorial road projects and the Paul E. Joseph Stadium in Frederiksted, St. Croix.

WTJX will share the broadcast on Channel 12, and online on facebook.com/WTJXwtjx.org/livestream/ and the PBS app, which can be viewed via TV streaming devices such as Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick, etc., as well as on smart devices.

Recovery in Focus premiered in March and continues to provide viewers with the most recent developments in ODR’s five priority areas; hospitals, schools, roads, housing, and power, as well as other critical projects that impact the daily lives of residents.

A new episode of Recovery in Focus will air on the last Thursday of every month.
