CHRISTIANSTED — Two masked, armed men robbed a St. Croix man sitting on the steps of a closed record store near the Sunny Isle Shopping Center on Tuesday night, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the shuttered Galloway’s Record Shop, located near the Sunny Isle stoplight, in reference to a robbery at 10:28 p.m. Tuesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The victim reported he was seated outside the establishment when two masked, armed males pointed their guns at him and demanded money, VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

“The victim told the suspects he did not have money, so they subsequently took the victim’s jewelry and mobile phone,” Derima said. “The suspects fled on foot, heading west.”

The suspects were described as Black males, about 5-feet, 10 inches tall with slim builds, he said. “Possible age range in their twenties, wearing all black clothing with black face masks.”

For orientation, Galloway’s Record Shop is located West of Super Tanker Gas Station and East of Wendy’s fast food restaurant in the Sunny Isle Shopping Center.

The VIPD is appealing to the community to contact them with any information they may have on these suspects by calling 911, the Crime TipLine at (340) 778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
