ROAD TOWN, Tortola —Two police stations have been temporarily closed across the British Virgin Islands as several officers are among 12 new COVID-19 cases sussed out by contact tracing.
In a join to a joint statement issued Sunday by BVI Governor Augustus Jaspert and BVI Health Minister Carvin Malone, the government leaders said the police stations would be closed indefinitely.
The British overseas territory reported a single day record of 10 cases Saturday, largely from contact tracing. Two additional cases were reported on Friday.
At least 47 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the BVI to date.
Overall, the BVI has only had one death.
