NEVER ON SUNDAY: Green Waste Won’t Be Accepted At Anguilla Landfill On Sundays

FREDERIKSTED — The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) said that effective Sunday, green waste and seaweed will only be accepted at the Anguilla Landfill Monday through Saturday.

“There will be no green waste or seaweed disposal on Sundays,” VIWMA spokeswoman Melody Rames said.

Residents are urged to practice backyard composting which reduces the volume of green waste entering the waste stream, Rames said.

“Composting is nature’s way of recycling; creating rich fertilizer and healthy soil for your garden,” she said.
