Sion Farm Man Driving Near St. Croix Hospital Arrested After Passenger Shot In His Moving Vehicle: VIPD

CHARGED: Kobi Todman, 22, of Sion Farm, St. Croix.

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man who was driving his car on the main road near the Juan Luis Hospital when a passenger inside his vehicle was shot — was arrested on illegal possession of ammunition charges on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Kobi Todman, 22, of Sion Farm was arrested at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Todman was arrested in connection with an incident that occurred on Benny Benjamin Drive on May 2, where a passenger in his vehicle sustained gunshot wounds,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

A search warrant was executed on Todman’s vehicle, where several spent shell casings, live ammunition, and magazines were confiscated, according to Derima.

Todman was arrested by police yesterday based on a Superior Court bench warrant for his arrest issued in connection to the shooting incident that occurred four months ago in Diamond Ruby, according to the VIPD.

Bail for Todman was set at $50,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice- of-rights hearing.
