Habitual Offender Jarius Penn Arrested On Gun Charge As Part Of ‘Operation Zero Tolerance’ On St. John

CHARGED: Jarius Penn of Cruz Bay, St. John

CRUZ BAY — For the second time in two years, a St. John man has been arrested on an illegal gun charge, authorities said.

Jarius Penn was arrested Thursday and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, St. John Deputy Chief Vivianne P. Newton said.

Penn was taken into official custody as part of St. John officer’s “Operation Zero Tolerance,” Newton said on Twitter at 7:09 p.m. Thursday.

Penn was one of three men arrested for “constructive possession of a firearm” on October 22, 2018 after a robbery was allegedly committed by two minors in Cruz Bay, police records indicate.

He was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.

All individuals listed as arrested or charged with a crime in this news article are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
