Police Investigating Armed Robbery Attempt Of KFC In Frederiksted: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who tried to rob the KFC restaurant on King Street Saturday night, authorities said.

An employee of the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, downtown Frederiksted reported to police at 10:15 a.m. Sunday that a man attempted to rob a fast food restaurant at gunpoint the previous night, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The employee reported that on Saturday about 10 p.m., while cleaning the restaurant after it closed, she was approached by a Black male wearing a camouflage face mask, dark shirt and white slippers, pointing a silver gun at her, according to the VIPD.

“The suspect reportedly demanded money from the store, but the employee stated that there was no money,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The suspect fled the area with no money.”
