CRUZ BAY — Police are investigating a fatal shooting in St. John that took place in Estate Enighed just past midnight on Wednesday.
The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call of shots fired in Enighed at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Officers arriving at the scene found an unresponsive man who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and medics on the scene were unable to find any vital signs, the VIPD said.
A’jahnie Bramble, 20, of Charlotte Amalie, was positively identified by next of kin as the homicide victim, VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
While canvassing the crime scene area, police learned that two other men were also shot in the incident and that they were being treated at the Myra Keating Clinic, Derima said. Each man’s medical condition is unknown.
Police put out a BOLO notice Wednesday morning on 21-year-old Jarius Penn of Estate Pastory, St. John in connection to the shooting death. The VIPD described Penn as a “person of of interest” in the fatal shooting.
Police said yesterday on Twitter that Penn was wanted for murder, but in an official press release issued late last night characterized the shooting as a case of “reckless endangerment.”
The death of Bramble is only the second homicide on St. John in 2020.
St. John Deputy Chief of Police Vivianne Newton denounced the incident and urged the responsible parties to turn themselves in.
“Someone out there knows what happened. Please contact us and let us know so we can arrest who did this,” Deputy Chief Newton stated.

“Remember, if you see something, say something,” she said.
