2 Men Shot On Gamble Gade In St. Thomas Early Sunday Morning: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two St. Thomas men said they were minding their own business walking downtown in the wee hours Sunday — when all of a sudden they heard “popping” noises — and realized they had been shot!

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to two gunshot victims at 1:12 a.m. Sunday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The victims both reported that they were in the area of Gamble Gade in downtown Charlotte Amalie when they heard popping sounds, then realized they had been shot,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The victims said they had no knowledge of who may have shot them, Derima said.

“They each received treatment for injuries that were not considered life threatening,” he said.

Anyone who may have seen something is asked to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5579 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-8477, where your information can earn you a reward.
