Crucian ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ Being Sought By Police After Recklessly Shooting At People In Mt. Pleasant West

FREDERIKSTED — A Crucian couple some are referring to as “Bonnie and Clyde” are wanted by the police for allegedly recklessly shooting at people in a west end neighborhood on St. Croix.

The “Bonnie” of the alleged crime duo has been captured; but the “Clyde” remains at large tonight, authorities said.

Michelle D. Wakefield, 34, of Estate Cane Carlton was arrested at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday and charged charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, discharging or aiming a firearm, carrying of firearms openly or concealed, third-degree assault, possession of ammunition and third-degree false reporting, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

‘Wakefield and her boyfriend, 37-year-old Tony Elizee, are accused discharging a firearm at individuals in the Mount Pleasant West neighborhood, which resulted in damages to homes,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “Police also have a warrant for Elizee’s arrest.”

Bail for Wakefield was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, she was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

Wakefield was arrested based on a bench warrant issued by the Superior Court.
