CHARGED: Sharron Lopez, 35, of Estate Paradise, St. Croix.

FREDERIKSTED — An Estate Paradise woman is accused of using a cell phone app to threaten and harass “several” people — including minors, authorities said.

Sharron Lopez, 35, of the Louis E. Brown Villas, was arrested at 4:43 p.m. Friday and charged with harassment by telephone, telegraph, or written communication and cyber stalking & cyber harassment, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Lopez is accused of creating over 200 telephone numbers through an online text message application to threaten and harass several persons, including minors,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit made the arrest of Lopez based on a bench warrant issued by the Superior Court, Derima said.

Bail for Lopez was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, she was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

All individuals listed as arrested or charged with a crime in this news article are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
