CHRISTIANSTED — In light of COVID-19 and a delay in receiving necessary ID card equipment replacements, The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) has granted an additional 90-day extension for all expired Senior Identification (ID) cards effective immediately (January 2021) in the St. Croix District.
The Department is requesting that businesses and banking institutions recognize this announcement as the official extension for Senior Discount Cards in order for seniors to continue to use their Senior ID for banking transactions and all other services requiring a valid Virgin Islands ID.
The DHS St. Croix District Senior ID Program is currently unable to issue and/or renew Senior IDs until further notice.
The office anticipates resuming Senior Discount Card issuance and renewal operations in the St. Croix District within 90 days when the new equipment is in place.
