Public Works To Close Parts Of Main Street Tomorrow As Part Of Enhancement Project

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Department of Public Works said today that Main Street will be closed between Hublot and the Grand Hotel tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The road closures will allow “the contractor to pressure wash and clean the newly installed Eurocobble pavers,” DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said.

“The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory,” Exius said.

Eurocobble is a modular paving system that purports to be easier to install and maintain.

The total estimated cost of the project is: $15,322,553.11
