First Lady Yolanda Bryan Does Not ‘Stand By Her Man’ Governor-Husband Albert During Church Service

FREDERIKSTED — Country music is a hit in the Caribbean.

And Tammy Wynette’s 1968 standard “Stand By Your Man is a C/W classic song.

But First Lady Yolanda Bryan practiced a form of social distancing in a church service on Sunday — that kept her husband Governor Albert Bryan away from her side.

Bryan, Lt. Governor Tregenza Roach and the Governor’s Cabinet attended a special “Service of Thanksgiving” this weekend at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Custom House Street in Frederiksted town.

The church service was held “to express thanks and ask for blessings for the year ahead was conducted by Father Anthony Abraham of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (of) Cruz Bay, St. John.” Government House said.

Yolanda Bryan gave two readings and Deacon Michael Jackson read the Gospel.

Yolanda Bryan chose not to stand next to her governor-husband Albert Bryan during the church service on Sunday evening, as these photos show.

Sometimes it’s hard to be a woman
Givin’ all your love to just one man
You’ll have bad times, and he’ll have good times
Doin’ things that you don’t understand
But if you love him, you’ll forgive himEven though he’s hard to understand
And if you love him, oh be proud of him
‘Cause after all, he’s just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And somethin’ warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep givin’ all the love you can
Stand by your manStand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep givin’ all the love you can
Stand by your man
