Former St. Croix Kayaker Accused Of Domestic Violence In Puerto Rico

CHARGED: Craig H. Scott of St. Croix.

SAN JUAN — A former St. Croix resident is accused of domestic violence in Puerto Rico after an alleged incident last summer, authorities said.

Craig Herbert Scott has been out on bail in Puerto Rico since July 24, 2020 in case #202010002874 of the Criminal Superior Court in Aguadilla, court records indicate.

The alleged victim in the domestic violence case told the Virgin Islands Free Press that she has been forced to endure six previous preliminary hearings in Puerto Rico over the matter.

“The next court date is April 12, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.” she told the V.I. Free Press. “Supposed to be either the trial or him accepting a plea deal.  The case is ‘with merit’ meaning the evidence is strong.”

The victim, who has a protective order against Craig, said she is hoping to reach the conclusion of the court dates with her seventh appearance in Puerto Rico Superior Court next month so she can move on with her life.

Scott ran a kayak business with the alleged victim when he lived and worked on St. Croix.

The victim said she was in an intimate relationship with Craig for at least six years, mostly on St. Croix.

“I was his victim and I will not be silent!” she said.
