Grouting And Cobblestone Repairs To Close Guttets Gade This Weekend: DPW

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Department of Public Works said today a portion of a street south of Main Street will be closed for needed repairs this weekend.

Guttets Gade intersection (roadway heading North towards Main Street near First Bank Waterfront) and Store Tvear Gade intersection (roadway near Virgilios) will not allow vehicles from Saturday to Monday, DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said.

That part of Guttets Gade will be closed to vehicular traffic from Saturday at 6 a.m. to Monday at 6 a.m., according to DPW.

“This closure will allow the contractor to complete grouting and cobble stone repairs,” Exius said. “The public is asked to avoid these areas and use alternate routes as much as possible during this time.”

DPW said it “appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve road conditions throughout the territory.”

The total estimated cost of the project is: $15,322,553.11
