St. Croix Hospital Names Hall After Tim Duncan’s Mom; NBA Champ Tours JFL

CHRISTIANSTED — The Juan F. Luis Hospital celebrated the life and contributions of former hospital worker Delysia Ione Duncan by naming “The Delysia Ione Duncan Hall” in her honor.

The hospital also expressed “deep gratitude to Tim Duncan for his generous donation of a medical-grade oxygen generator.”

Through her many years of service leading with integrity and purpose, Mrs. Duncan has left an indelible imprint on the hearts and souls of all those who knew her.

“We honor Delysia Ione Duncan, who, during her time at JFL, served as a dedicated mid-wife. Naming this hall for Mrs. Duncan will undoubtedly make her impact known to all who walk it. We thank her for being a team member here with us and it is such a pleasure to pay tribute to her and her memory,” said Interim CEO Dyma B. Williams.

JFL thanked Tim Duncan for gifting JFL the first acute care hospital based oxygen generator to land on the shores of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“We greatly appreciate Tim Duncan’s donation as it helps us to assure that very patient that enters the doors of the new JFL North has life sustaining oxygen made right here on JFL property,” Williams said. “Without a doubt, he is a healthcare hero and Virgin Islander committed to the betterment of the Virgin Islands as we Rebuild Today for a
Healthier Tomorrow.”

JFL will continue to honor the legacy of Mrs. Duncan and remains grateful to Tim Duncan for choosing to donate to JFL. If you would like to make a donation to JFL, contact cthomas@jflusvi.org
