Contractor 'Inadvertently' Disables Traffic Signal On Raadets Gade Today

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Department of Public Works is advising the community of an offline traffic signal at the intersection of Raadets Gade and Veteran’s Drive in the waterfront area of St. Thomas.

The line providing power to the traffic signal was inadvertently damaged by an external contractor early this morning, according to DPW.

“DPW is working to complete repairs on the compromised unit as soon as possible. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to traverse the area with extreme caution,” DPW spokeswoman Renee Exius said today. “The department appreciates the community’s patience as they work to improve the territory’s infrastructure.”
