Police Investigate Stabbing At Gas Station Near Cruise Ship Dock Friday Night: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed near a gas station by the waterfront in St. Thomas on Friday night, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Giant Gas, located near Mandela Circle, in reference to an assault victim at 11:02 p.m. Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Officers traveled to the area and found a Black male who sustained an apparent stab wound to the lower back,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The unidentified victim was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC) by ambulance for treatment of his injury. His condition was unknown.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows what happened to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 715-5513, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS with the information needed to solve this crime.

“Remember, if you see something, say something.” Derima said.
