Police Say Remains Found At Bugby Hole Can't Be Those Of Sarm Heslop: VIPD

LAST SEEN ON ST. JOHN MARCH 8: Sarm Heslop, 41, of Southampton, UK.

CHRISTIANSTED — The Virgin Islands Police Department is responding to inquiries from members of the British-based press, attempting to link the dead body found in Bugby Hole on May 19 to the disappearance of Sarm Heslop from St. John on March 8.

“Although detectives presently cannot identify the female found deceased, they can confirm that the remains are not Caucasian, effectively ruling out that the remains are of Ms. Heslop,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The VIPD continues to work this case, looking for clues to determine what happened to Ms. Heslop.”

People on social media have been largely critical about the handling of the police investigation into the disappearance of Sarm Heslop in March.

“So tell the VIPD to get there arse in gear and find out more FACTS like search the boat and talk to the boyfriend,” Bruce Henderson said on Facebook. “It’s gone on too long with no real action as far as I can see.”

Anyone with information that can assist detectives are urged to contact police by calling 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau in the St. Thomas / St. John District at (340) 774-2211, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
