Police Need Your Help To Find Missing Teenager Solimar Barnes On St. Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police need your help this evening to find a missing teenager on St. Thomas, authorities said.

Solimar Barnes, 15, has been missing for three days, family members told the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Barnes stands 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She has a light complexion with brown eyes and red-colored hair. She has three dark marks on the left side of her face and three dark marks on her left arm.

Solimar Barnes was last seen on Saturday, October 2, in Savan, wearing blue jeans, a white blouse, and black Crocs.

Meanwhile, police reported a new development in the missing persons case of Solimar Barnes at 7:52 p.m. tonight.

“UPDATE: 15-year-old Solimar Barnes, who was reported missing on October 2, got in touch with her legal guardians and the VIPD,” police said on Facebook. “Her family members are now reporting that she is safe and no longer considered missing. We thank everyone for sharing the original post, and for providing tips as to her whereabouts.”

The comments on social media ranged from concerned to confused.

“One word for you young lady: stay home and focus on your schooling,” Evelyn Garcia said. “With all the evil happening to young girls you don’t need to be out there. If u are having problems at home speak to a counselor Don’t be putting yourself in danger.”

“Young ladies please stay focused on life, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side,” Dayna Dayna said.

“I’m confused because she was in Island Linen today,” KeKe Loving Kalil Smithen said.

“She is not missing someone was lying on her,” Prinxcess Anna replied to KeKe Loving Kalil Smithen.
