CRUZ BAY — The Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services, in accordance with its mission to provide safety, service and satisfaction, assigned an ambulance to the Coral Bay Fire Station (Romeo Co.) earlier this week.
“As 911 call volumes steadily increase, this designation greatly improves our dual response emergency services within the St. John community, without impairing our ability to respond to multiple incidents.” VIFS Director Daryl A. George said.
Throughout the territory, every station is assigned a dual role FF/EMT each shift,
eliminating the previously challenging aspects of transporting patients between the islands of St. John and St. Thomas, VIFS Director George said, adding that the ambulance was in place on Monday.
