Bench Warrant Issued For Dominican Republic Native Who Failed To Surrender To Police

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Territorial marshals need your help to find a St. Thomas man who failed to surrender to police as per court order.

Miguel Encarnacion, 37, of Canal Gade in Charlotte Amalie, was ordered to report to police on Friday afternoon under the terms of his sentencing agreement with the Superior Court.

A Superior Court judge issued bench warrant for Encarnacion’s arrest on Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Police said Encarnacion is considered a fugitive from justice because he was supposed to turn himself in to authorities at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, but did not, according to the VIPD.

Encarnacion is described as being an Hispanic man who stands 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds.
