Warner Brothers Captured By Police After Their Mother Turns Them In

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Two brothers wanted in connection with an assault on St. Thomas surrendered to authorities without incident yesterday morning.

Amari Warner, 22, and Mahleem Warner, 20, were detained after their mother brought them to the police station on Wednesday morning, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The Warner brothers were arrested at 7:40 a.m. and charged with third-degree assault, according to the VIPD.

Bail for each Warner brother was set at $25,000 each. Unable to post bail, they were remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

The VIPD issued a wanted poster for the Warner brothers on Monday. Amari Warner and Mahleem Warner were turned over to detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau by their mother, police said.

 On Thursday, July 7, 2022, officers were dispatched at 4:16 p.m., to Thomasville, in reference to a report of shots being fired.

Officers arrived and interviewed several citizens who stated there was an altercation among a group of people, but they left the area before the police arrived. Officers interviewed a victim, who stated he was assaulted by “several individuals.”  

During the investigation, the suspects were identified as 22-year-old Amari Warner, Mahleem Warner 20-years-old and one minor, according to police.
