1 Dead, 1 Injured After Auto Collision On Veterans Drive Late Friday

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Virgin Islands Police are investigating a vehicle collision that left one driver dead and one passenger injured late Friday.

About 11:54 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center reported an auto collision involving a sedan and an SUV on Veterans Drive near Moe’s Fresh Market, according to the VIPD.

A preliminary investigation revealed a black sedan was traveling eastward in the left lane and a white
SUV was traveling in the same area in the right lane, when the two vehicles collided and the black sedan flipped over onto its roof.

The driver in the black sedan succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash, VIPD spokesman Glen Dratte said. The passenger was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment where they remain in stable condition.

The deceased was identified by next of kin as Keonae A. Turnbull, 26, of St. Thomas, according to Dratte.

The incident is under active Investigation by the Traffic Investigation Bureau (TIB).
