Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) took Durand into custody without incident on Friday, according to the VIPD.

Durand was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant that was signed by Superior Court Judge
Ernest E. Morris Jr., on Wednesday, VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

“This arrest is in reference to an attempted murder where the victim was shot and robbed at gun point on April 19, 2022, in the vicinity of Kmart Sunny Isles,” Dratte said. “Mr. Durand was bounded over from the juvenile system as an adult by the Superior Court.”

The suspect was charged as an adult, booked and processed. Bail for Durand was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending an advice-of -rights hearing tomorrow at the Superior Court.
