CRUZ BAY — The Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division is hosting a St. John Town Hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 17.
The meeting will focus on the Street Addressing Initiative for the island of St. John and be held at the Cleone Henrietta Creque Legislative Conference Room, St. John Legislature Annex.
On that day the GIS Division will announce that the Office of the Lt. Governor has received Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds in the amount of $5 million dollars to complete the remaining components of its Street Addressing Initiative (SAI).
In addition, the project’s timeline will begin on the island of St. John to complete the Master Address Repository and fully implement the addressing grid.
“As Chair of Homeland Security, Justice and Public Safety, I must state that this federal funding is a huge win for the territory and the Street Addressing Initiative which will positively impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our emergency responders which will promote greater public safety,” Senator-at-Large Angel Bolques Jr. said.
“I hope that St. Johnians turn out for the town hall and share their thoughts that will effectively complement the blessing that St. Johnians will experience through the program’s public safety benefits,” Senator Bolques added.
