CHRISTIANSTED — Police are investigating after a man covered in blood and in handcuffs told police that he was kidnapped and beaten by two men on St. Croix one year ago today.
Larson Prince, 34, of Anna’s Hope, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with false Imprisonment/kidnapping, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
A concerned citizen reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center that an unknown male was at her residence seeking help, covered in blood, and handcuffed on November 14, 2021, according to the VIPD.
“The victim told the homeowner that he was kidnapped and beaten,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.
On Saturday, November 12, 2022, at approximately 5:56 a.m., members of the Criminal
Investigation Bureau and the Special Operation Bureau executed an arrest warrant on Prince at Annas Hope Villas, Building 9, according to Dratte.
Prince was taken into custody without incident and transported to #45 Mars Hill, Frederiksted, where he was read his Miranda Rights.
After being read his rights, the suspect declined to give a statement, police said. Prince was then booked and processed.
Bail for Prince was set at $75,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
Dratte added that “an arrest warrant is pending on his brother Lawton Prince” in connection to the same incident. Lawton Prince is believed to be off-island, authorities said.
