CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A man who bit a woman on her face and arms and strangled her has been arrested on domestic violence charges, authorities said.
Clinton Whyte Sr., 34, of St. Thomas, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence, simple assault-domestic violence, unlawful entry, destruction of property-domestic violence, and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The victim stated that on Monday, January 2, 2023, while walking towards her residence, Mr. Whyte attacked her and followed her into her residence where he slapped her in the face, bit her about her face and arms causing multiple bruises on her body, and that he also strangled her,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.
Whyte surrendered himself to the VIPD Domestic Violence Unit about 5:00 p.m. Thursday, according to Dratte.
