Woman Arrested For Ganging Up On Female Cousin In Parking Lot of St. Thomas Hospital

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police have arrested a woman accused of ambushing and physically assaulting her female cousin in the parking lot of the St. Thomas hospital in early December.

Annica Charleswell-Thompson, 37, of St. Thomas, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and charged with first-degree assault-mayhem, third-degree assault-domestic violence, simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The female victim stated that on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at about 7:30 p.m., she was at the emergency room when an altercation took place between her and her two cousins, according to the VIPD.

“The victim identified Mrs. Charleswell-Thompson, as one of two assailants that attacked her in the parking lot of the Schneider Regional Medical Center, which resulted in her receiving multiple injuries about her face and body,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

Charleswell-Thompson surrendered herself to detectives with the Domestic Violence Unit on Saturday, according to Dratte.
