CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday after his ex-girlfriend identified him as her assailant, authorities said.
Kamoy Williams, 27, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. and charged with charged with simple assault-domestic violence and disturbance of the peace-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The female victim stated that on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at about 6:20 p.m., Mr. Williams came to her residence to drop off their minor child,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said. “The victim said that Mr. Williams became upset and grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground.”
Williams voluntarily surrendered to police on Tuesday evening, according to Dratte.
No bail was set for him. He was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
