Hazardous marine conditions continue

SAN JUAN — A long-period northerly swell will bring hazardous marine and coastal conditions today and throughout the weekend across the Atlantic waters and local Caribbean passages from the northwest to the northeast coast of Puerto Rico, Culebra, Vieques, St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. 

A High Surf Advisory is now in effect from noon through 6:00 a.m. AST Saturday. A small Craft Advisory is now in effect for the Mona and Anegada Passage. 

Areas at Risk and Timing

Small Craft Advisories are in effect across the Atlantic waters and local Caribbean passages throughout the weekend.

* There is a High Risk of Rip Currents along the north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico, from Rincón and Aguada to Fajardo, Culebra, St. Thomas, and St. John, through at least Sunday morning.

High Surf Advisory is now in effect from the northwest to the northeast coast of Puerto Rico, Culebra, St. Thomas, and St. John from noon AST today through 6 AM AST Saturday due to breaking waves between 10 and 13 feet.
